Can someone please remind me what the trick is to get my dashed lines to look and print dashed in layout view?
Thanks :huh:

Type LTSCALE and mess around with values until your linetype looks good in the layout -- try 1, then 6, then 24, pick something in between that works. Also type PSLTSCALE and set it to 0. (alternate is 1, you can try that to see what it gives you.) Plot preview may or may not show dashes as they will print, depending on printer.
Be sure to check "scale lineweigts" in the plotter dialog.
If this messes up other lines, then go back to Properties and try the linetype scale.

Ltscale=1
Psltscale=1 (set per each viewport)

Thanks for the quick replies-
When I checked, my psltscale was at "1" - when I changed it to zero it plotted correctly (YAY!). But it still looks like a solid line before it plots... :-(
Why would it depend on my printer whether I see the line as dashed or solid?
Why does this variable exist? I can't think of a reason why anyone would specifically create a dashed line and then want it to print as a solid line? hmmmm....

I tried, but I cant think of a reason for it either... It also annoyed me until I came here and found out about the PSLTSCALE command. Someone even posted a lisp routine for automatically changing the variable to 0 on all existing layouts - I use it and love it!
The dashed lines should look dashed in your paper space after you switch between model and paper space once, or use REGEN command. If that fails - reopening the drawing should fix the problem.
