I used this function some years ago but cannot find it in Acad 2006. I have a polyline and want to assign a width to it - simple enough. However I want the existing polyline to now become either the extreme right or extreme left of the polyline with the width assigned (for use in land registry drawings) I cannot find the option to assign the width either left or right of the existing polyline i.e I don't wan't the width to be equidistant from the centre.
Help please?
Thanks

Can you not double click your polyline, then type in 'W' for width & then enter your required width?

The width of a polyline always equal distance from the center. Are you sure it was a polyline object?

type PEDIT the type W for width and set the width you require for your line .If you do this without selecting a line all plines will be that width from then on .
You can also select the line and under your properties (pr shortcut) set the width you require of the line selected.
that should do it

I have had this problem before, and not finding a function for it, one must think laterally. :)
Offset your polyline half the width, and then make this second polyline the width you require. The original polyline is then at the edge of the wide line :D

sorry i should have explained in greater detail.
If you draw a line then select it you have star tsegment and end segment in your proerties dialogue box.If you want the line to taper then set your start width higher than the end width .
Hope that this helps..
