Hello,
I made a drawing of a frame in 3d and using 4 viewports in paperspace made a nice-looking layout for the drawing. I want to dimension it in paper-space and according to what I know this should be as simple as to just click on the parts I want to dimension.
I have set the scale of the viewports to 1:10 and the problem I have is that whenever I dimension in paper-space it gives a 10 times smaller length then the actual length. So somehow my dimension is being scaled down....... :(
Does anyone know how to set Acad to using the actual sizes???

Change DIMLFAC system variable - Sets a scale factor for linear dimension measurements. All linear dimension distances, including radii, diameters, and coordinates, are multiplied by DIMLFAC before being converted to dimension text.

It does the trick!! But now the dimensions in modelspace are wrong of course. There should be a way to do this so that the dimensions are always right..... I'd prefer that because when using this DIMFLAC the dimensions are no longer associative and there's no way I can check them.....
Plus I'm afraid what happens when someone else opens my drawing when I have used this, will he see the dimension as I put in, or the actual dimension times my DIMFLAC value?

Instead of changing DIMFLAC have you checked that dimensions are associatives? When dimensioning in paper space to get the right lenght of a scaled object dimensions should be associated (The DIMASSOC (http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/ms-its:ACAD_ACR.chm::/ACR.ab.027.D.DIMASSOC.htm) system variable is set to 2)
As you can see in your drawing: green dimensions where done with DIMASSOC (http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/ms-its:ACAD_ACR.chm::/ACR.ab.027.D.DIMASSOC.htm) set to 2, while red ones with DIMASSOC set to 1

Thanx! That was indeed the problem. Dunno how it became set to 1 though...
But all is working again! :D

Pheraps some application or lisp that you loaded that set the variable to 1. Happy that you sort it out :)

It seems to be reset to "1" every time I start Acad. Have to set it back every time..... mmmmmmm. Irritating.
