Hello
I have an Xref question for any XRef gurus out there.

- I have one drawing that is made up entirely of XRefs that I am using as a background drawing.

- I also have a project drawing

- I open up the project drawing and then Xref in the backgrgound drawing.

- The XRef manager tells me that the background file is loaded – but the drawing DOES NOT show up.

This is very frustrating. What I’m I missing or forgetting to do to get the XRefs to show up??

Have you tried Zoom-> Extents? It might me somewhere far away...

have you x-reffed it into layer 0? Is layer 0 thawed and lit?

also, TroutKing, there is no real need to post the same question onto 2 different threads.

If there are nested xrefs, be sure they are inserted as attachment and not overlay.

Norts - I posted this into two different threads for a reason. I had been working on some VB routines and asking help on that board. After asking questions over there and not getting any responses to my XRef questions I moved over here to cover more territory and because even though this started out as a VB question - the problem is really no longer just a VB question - it is now a general question.

TigerRedhead & lpseifert - thank you for the responses. Yes, I have tried the zoom and layer solutions. Still no luck. The XRefs are attached and not overlays.

I'm lost

And they are attached all the way through the x-ref-chain?

You x-ref them into Model-space in the project.dwg right?

other than that I'm lost as well...except for the old re-boot-solution and start all over again :P

Yep, they are attached all the way through. Rebooting doesn't work as this has been going on since I began trying last week. And a size 11 shoe to the side of the CPU doesn't work either....... or so I've heard

My profile paths are correct too. It just seems like there is something simple here that I'm missing - but I can't figure it out....

Those are the most irritating problems... I can't figure it out either sorry - there should be more Americans along shortly (it's about time for them to wake up when I leave work :P..although I notice you are also American.. :?) that know more about X-refs then me :)

Well - I just tried to do it manually and it worked fine. I guess the issue must be in the VB code that I used to create the XRefs. So I guess I'm up the creek since I was unable to get any responses to this particular issue over on tha board.

Thank you for your time........
