Is it possible to bind an image (jpeg) as you can an xref? It seems to only allow a path to be specified. I am in AutoCAD 2000i.

Images cannot be bound to AutoCAD drawings, only linked - sorry.

Try a copy/Paste.

No, cannot bind as CadTutor said but remember that if you need to share this file (.dwg) simply do an e-transmit and your jpeg will be bundled in the zip file.

Thanks for the input. Copy/Paste works better than nothing, but the image suffered even at the highest resolution. E-transmit is something I haven't used before, but it makes a nice package out of the entire thing. Handy command.

It does a good job. It will "bundle" the dwg file and any reference files (xref's and such as well), plot styles, raster images and even fonts into a zip (or .exe) file.

What I do is create a new material lib. and import the image there. This is then transferred.

I'm sure there was something posted ages ago about this. Found a cool post here for ya

You can convert images to AutoCAD entities first, then paste it in your drawing. More at http://www.cadeast.com
