What setting is it that I need to change to have my rendered images appear with more rounded edges? What I mean is that anything that is partly circular will have slight edges to it

depending upon which programme you are using.... turn on anti aliasing, or in some cases, increase the resolution.
in Acad it's under render ~rendering options ~ more options... and you can specify the amount of anti aliasing (though I've never really found it satisfactory, I prefer Viz)

Ive increased the anti aliasing to high and it still gives me edges. My screen resolution is 1024x768.Do I need to change a setting in my options?

If in AutoCAD set your "facetres" up a bit. I believe that it is set to .5 by default. Set it to 2 will make a difference.
