My company designs products by creating graphical renderings using Rhino 4.0. We send these renderings as cut files to our supplier who Laser cuts our steel parts to make the product. Our supplier uses AutoCAD to view the file and Sigmanest to program the laser cutter.
Here is our problem.......
Currently we send the cut files to our cutter as a 2 dimensional DWG file.
Our friend at the cutter then opens the file in AutoCAD.
When he opens our DWG file in AutoCAD the curves on our 2Dimensional DWG file are not a continuous line but a series of small lines connected.
Thus our cutter has to redo the entire cut file in CAD so that a Circle cut out is a continuous line and not a series of small connected lines since the laser will only cut a rendering that has continuous lines.....(He see's the small lines when he zooms in on the curved portion of the files)
This is costing my company a lot of money so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
