HOW DO I PUT METRIC DIMS UNDER (BELOW) THE INCH DIMS THAT ARE ABOVE DIM LINE using model space? :?:

In ADT 2004 the Properties window doesn't have an option for this. You have to go into Dimension Style Manager, click Modify, on the Alternate Units tab under Placement check Below Primary Value, then save your changes.

By clicking "Alternate Units tab under Placement check Below Primary Value" this places metric under inches above the dim line. I want to place inches above dim line & metric below dim line. Auocad 2000 lt would do it!

Try putting "\X" (must be capitalized) as the suffix for the primary dimension...or the prefix for the alternate, I forget which. If that doesn't work, you can manually edit the dimension text so it reads "<>\X[]" -- and maybe one of the wizards around here has a routine that might automate it. :-)

Kate, your method is only for editing dim. For new dim see davs79

Davs79 was the one asking the question. :-)
I don't have a good place to post a screen shot, but under the "Primary Units" and "Alternate Units" tabs in the Dimension Styles Manager, there are options for both a prefix and a suffix. I can't quite get it to work on my machine (2004 full), but I know it's supposed to.
Davs79, if you can't find your answer here, you might try searching at http://discussion.autodesk.com. I think they've discussed it on occasion.

Primary units are always above, alternative units are always below.
Kate, thanks for link.
