View Full Version : Creating Revit Titleblocks

Having a bit of a nightmare with Revit. I'm trying to create a titleblock, which on the surface looks ok. The non-editable text is in, but I'm having problems with the labels (and parameters). For a start, I need a lot more (different parameters), file refs, plot dates, revision numbers etc. and had a read up about the on the net as Revit help doesn't seem to have any information. Trying to set up more parameters seems to be more trouble than it's worth, so I thought about just doubling up a few of them as once the titleblock has been imported into the drawing it's quite straightforward to input the information required.

Now when you first add the label, the select parameter box appears and you can choose the parameter and change the value to something more relevant. Problem is, when the titleblock is saved and imported into the drawing, the 'values' just change back to the default values.

Is Revit just being complicated, or have I just got too used to AutCAD?

Banging my head against the wall at the moment. I hope that made sense to someone, sorry for the long post.

Just realised that there's no way of reusing some of the parameter for other labels - you can only use them once. For example, you can't use parameter 'sheet issue date' for both 'date' and 'date plotted' as it will try to apply the same date to both.

Any ideas how to set new parameters?

Hi Emma

You can use a shared parameter file to add more parameters. File>shared Parameters should take you to Shared Parameters. Once you have your shared parameters set up, when you use label to place a parameter on the titleblock, you click add parameter and then select which shared parameter you want to add to this block !

If you need more detailed assistance, i'd be glad to help!!
