View Full Version : Question: Updating DIMSCALE for predrawn Leaders?

I did a complete drawing at a DIMSCALE of 6. Well I just realized that I needed to do it in 4.5 - and I use a custom block for my leader. Is there a magical button/variable that will scale it down to 4.5 without screwing up the Leader head or line? Thanks in advance for all who reply. 8)

Does the dimstyle update on the dimension toolbar not work? (I mostly use command line inputs for everything i draw except dimenstions)

Thanks for the help guys, tried the DIMUPDATE method but it makes my leaders go all outta wack. I'll just remember to not be so clumbsy next time when starting my DIM's.

Do you have the desired dimstyle set current before running DIM UPDATE?
That command simple applies the current dim settings to the selected dimensions.

Yeah I do... I think it has something to do with the way the original CAD guy before me set up the DIMS. I like using DIMSCALE, but he actually preset Dim Styles for each scale in Model Space, and I never went through and changed them back around to my way of doing things.... partly because my company likes it that way.

Plus, I use the "3 point" leader method, I think this also makes the Leader go outta wack when adjusting the DIMSCALE and doing the update... not for absolute certain but just my assumption.

by "outta wack" you mean the line jumps around and eventually under the text?

did you check the properties of the leader before and after the update to make sure nothing else changed. Any time I update the dimstyle of a leader to get a different scale the properties "Test Pos Vert" change to "Above" reguardless of what my dim style is set to. If I change it back to "Centered" which is what is in the dimstyle, and what I want it to look like it "fixes" the leader.
