I'm not very familiar with LT 05, I learned most of my cad on AutoCAD 2007 and a lot of commands and tools aren't in 05. I was wondering if there is any for loading "LAYFRZ" that anyone may know of.

Another thing, when I load them on this version do I do it similar to 07? By that I mean going to the "SUPPORT" folder, saving as XXXX.isp then loading it?

You can't use LISP in AutoCAD LT.

Get an add-on for LT that allows you to use lisp.....or go back to 2007...o:)

AutoCAD LT 2008 has the LAYFRZ command, in fact, all the Layers Express Tools. only $350 for an upgrade, and 2008 is the last year to get it the upgrade price.... (goes in 3 year spurts for LT upgrades)

Might wanna ask your boss or if it's your own copy, get it if you can. :)

Autodesk has a pretty good deal for upgrading LT to full AutoCAD right now, as well.

I've heard that said on here before. But I can't remember the price, if I pay $800 for the LT version, what do I have to pay for the upgrade to full version?

I think it is about $1995.

Ok to be honest, before I came to work here I've never heard of LT. I don't notice many differences in the program other than the lack of some commands. I hear everyone talking about "upgrading" and "full-version", so is LT like a bare-bones AutoCAD program?

The programs not mine, its the office's.

for basic, normal AutoCAD situations, LT will do everything you will need. but, there are lots of things you will notice that will be missed. I for one, absolutely will not use LT. I honestly refuse. I would rather use AutoCAD 2000 than AutoCAD LT 2008. haha

Wow, thats more than I expected. But being that I don't do anything in 3D, which seems like most of the features that are not included are 3D related, it works for what I do. I draw floor plans for engineered wood products. .... now that I think of it... AutoCAD LT sucks.
