im a relative newcomer to autocad and keep having this same recurring problem, can anyone help?
every file i export from autocad 2008 as a .dwg and try and import into 3ds max 8.0 results in a "improper file format" textbox and it doesnt work. existing .dwg files created by other poeple import into max fine so it is obviously my exporting where the problem lies. i was instructed to use this method.. (hide all unwanted polylines and select the required lines) right click in workspace then copy to clipboard with base pt then open new file, paste from clipboard then save as .dwg. in my autocad the clipboard copy/paste option isnt on the right click menu so i simple copy line and paste them into a new file and then save.
am i missing a step here? the file saves fine and opens fine in autocad later but wont import into max. anyone had similar problems? mental block here so any help would be appreciated, cheers.
