Hi,

I have 50 no. seperate drawings that each contain a "For Comment" xref. These drawings have now been commented on and are about to be issued. As a result I need to remove the "For Comment" xref from each drawing.

Is it possible to remove this xref from all 50 drawings using reference manager? I can change the path of the xref or find and replace but there is no option to detach. I tried to replace the existing path with blank but I then get the text at 0,0 in drawing saying "Xref_X_For_Comment.dwg"

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you are looking to automate the process of detaching that xref from multiple files, I think you will need to write a script to do so.

I take it then that reference manager cannot deal with this problem?

ahhhhhh...just me sneaking in again.......a problem with xrefs?????

You really should have set your "For Comment" up as a dynamic block...or something similiar.....that way you could easily get rid of it at the next revision.......:)

thought about this and didn't feel like putting a script together to detach the multiple xrefs and then a piece of inspiration struck me down.............

I changed the "For Comment" text to layer defpoints in the host drawing

another cheater way would be to go and rename the xref dwg to like "For Comment2" each drawing wouldn't show the xref because it can't find it. Then if you need it back just rename it to the original name and reload it! Kind of a cheating way but it works.

Oh and XREFS RULE!!!! LOL
