Alright, so i have to ask: how do you create a block with text attribute?
i've created a motion detector and i have a number to the side of it, do i type "block" and then select the text and object? or do i just select the object and then somehow add the text?? i dunno.
thanks in advance.

The text next to the block is actually created with the ATT command and not the regular text or Mtext commands. Once you have created your attribute THEN you WBlock the linework along with the attribute out to your hard drive. When the block is inserted the user will be prompted to input the correct information.

ATTDEF command
and you can either WBLOCK for use in lots of drawings or BLOCK for single use. Whatever you do MAKE SURE your basepoint is within the drawing geometry.
