Is there a way that I can set up a layer filter(If that's waht its called!!) So if I have say 100 layers on drawing, rather than switch off/freeze/change colour etc. every time I start a new drawing I can just choose for example Site Layout filter and it automiatically changes the layer states for me!! Just would save quite a bit of time!!

Cheers

what you would need to do would be to create your layer state as you would do normally, then export it to a .las file.
then in each subsequent drawing you would need to import that .las file you created above.

Depends how closely together the layers are named, for me I use the command "-LA" which lets you change the layers to the way you want them.

say for instance if you wanted to change the colour of a bunch of layers you would go
"-LA"
C
type the number code for the number you want ie "252"
then type if they were similialy labeled like A-WALL you would type *A-Wall* and any layer with that would change color

You can freeze layers and such with this command. If you just want to freeze layers that get in your way, you can use
"LAYFRZ" instead of opening up the layer manager and such and such.

"LAYFRZ" then a square cursor, if you left it on default will appear, just select a line that is related to the layer that annoys you and click it, everything related to that layer turns off.
