Hello everyone,
My office is experiencing problems. We have a new person in the office and she is experiencing AutoCad problems, I'm using AutoCad 2006, and she's using AutoCad Map 3D 2006. She can open my drawings, but she doesn't want to use Map 3D 2006, she wants the plain AutoCad 2006. I don't know how I got this version, because our IT personnel doesn't have it. But I do, is there a way to turn off the Map 3D 2006 application and just get the 2006 version? Thanks for your help.
Her problem is she doesn't get any menus, or toolbars. It looks like she has a demo version, but it's not.

Map 3D 2006 is just an add on to vanilla AutoCAD 2006. She can create a new CUI that will show the same menu and tool bar structure as vanilla autocad 2006.

Dude Map rules. Help her load the menus she wants in her cui and teach her some of the nifty features of Map. Who knows, she may find it useful.

I let her look at some, but I'm getting everything in order to upgrade to Civil 3D 2007, I have no experience in Civil 3D, we're using Bentley software to import our survey data, and InRoads to calculate dirt work. But my boss saw something on Civil 3D 2007, and wants to upgrade. It looks cool, but now we have to schedule trainings for it.

C3D is a fantastic product, but make sure he knows prior to purchasing it that it is a subscription only product. You pay the price of the software + the sub price ($1,000 give or take) and then he must pay the sub renewal fee every year and will get upgrades as part of that. If he ever fails to renew the sub then at the point when he decides to upgrade he will have to pay retroactive subscription fees.

Yeah, we have a subscription to the Bentley Products, I think this is going to be a slow yet smooth transition for us, because everyone here is microstation and InRoads users. Except for me, I used InRoads but I'm a AutoCad user through and through, I started with AutoCad release 11. It's a decision my boss wants to make, we get work from other firms, where it's AutoCad format. We can work with it on Microstation but we do have AutoCad as well. I just want to know the in's and out's of C3D.

Just holler when you come up with any questions. I'd be more than happy to help where I can.
