View Full Version : arcs print different than circles

I've been working on this drawing for an arc-ed bridge with a radius of about 160'. When i print from the layout, the arcs are all drawn crooked, almost hexagonal. I made the arc of the bridge from large circles, and as long as i don't trim those circles they will print smooth and normal. splines and circles print normal, arcs do not. even when i print from model space (and the arcs appear very clear and smooth) the arcs will NOT be smooth.

Could be a plotter/printer problem

That's what I think.

I believe so. Sorry SLW210, but VIEWRES only affects the resolution on the drawing. That is at least if I am correct. :D

Correct, just thought it was worth a try off the top of my head.

i'm pretty darn sure it's not my plotter/printer that is the problem. I guess i figured it out. I just drew the arcs with the spline tool, and for SOME REASON that will print smooth. the weird thing was, that when viewing the arcs in model space, they appeared smooth, but in the viewport of the layout, they would be jagged- and print jagged.

I can't think of anything else right now. I know 2000i had some problems with this at one time. I don't remember the fix though.

Make sure your printer is set to a higher resolution than it currently is.
If it is currently set to, say "draft mode", then up the anti a bit.

my printer is currently set to the highest resolution settings. I believe that this may be a bug in my program. I have, actually, FabCad. and i have had to reinstall cad before because of unexplainable problems.
