Okay, I've spent the better part of my afternoon trying to explain to Alan what I mean - I'm not sure if it's my fault (of course not I hear you shout, thank you thank you) or if it's just some Swedish thing, but I'm calling out to the Forum - Help tiger!!

I need to find myself a 'per thousand'-sign - how do I do that? It's not on my keyboard - and I've never learnt a %%-thing for it. Does anyone know how to do it?

uhm...if you don't know what a 'per thousand'-sign is (this is where I loose Alan) - it looks like a 'per cent'-sign (%) but with an extra cirkel on this side of the slash-sign... like o/oo kinda... you follow?

Sorry, mate, can't help you.

And it's "circle". Not "cirkel".

Is there a thing like %%c, that is for "per thousand" ?

oops...I generally see when I write the swedish word - this one missed me...

Nah, a little devil wispered in my ear that it's alt+0137 so it's okey :)

I wouldn't mind betting that little devil was Norts.

It works, but only with true type fonts. Just a note

Ignorance speaking here: to get that 'ALT-0137' to make a 'per thousand' symbol (o/oo), what exactly do you do? I've done very little with symbols, although I use the three or four common ones, like 'plus-or-minus' 'diameter' and 'degrees' where I type in two percent signs and a letter code.

Just exactly what do you enter on the keyboard, in DTEXT or MTEXT, to get this 'per thousand' symbol? I'm obviously missing something.

Thanks.

It only works with some font files (I find Arial works); when you type in your text hold the Alt key down while entering 0137 on the numpad keys.

Just type 0137 while you hold the ALT key pressed, then release

Aha! I must use the number keypad, not the numbers above the alphabet keyboard. (Using the numbers above the keyboard resulted in a little 'beep' noise and just the numbers typed out.) And of course, a font that recognizes it -True Type as suggested earlier. I do see the symbol in some of the Character lists under the MText Editor, too, but not in all fonts.

I can see this working now. Thanks!
