View Full Version : problem coping and pasting

Just recently with some new drawings we received from 2 different designers I have lost the ability to copy from one drawing to paste in to another drawing. I am using Autocad 2000 and I am not sure what the designers used. I am 99% sure it was not Autocad though. We have three seats of Autocad at my work and it is the same with all of them.

Steps I have tried

1. saving as an earlier format - tried a R14 version
2. exploding the drawing
3. even tried purging the file although I was pretty sure that would not help

Is there a setting somewhere that I might be able to check?

I would appreciate any help provided on this matter.

The people sending you the drawings need to get a Hotfix from Autodesk.

You can convert the files your self with DWG TrueConvert, it needs the Hotfix as well.

I am having trouble figuring out the hotfix. As I understand it, the hotfix is this dll file:

acdb17.dll

I can not find any info on what to do with the dll file though. I have already installed DWG TrueConvert but beyond that I am lost:?

Thanks for any help

The instructions are in the "Read Me" file.

Hi,

why don't you read the above mentioned KB article to the end and try DWG True-Convert as suggested? Or better still post a sammple of your files here (if not humongous) and we'll check it out...
