Hello. First post. Regrettably it's a problem and not a solution, but that's where I am technically with AutoCAD.

My program (AutoCAD 2007, academic version) will literally disappear when I try to import points in the following sequence:

Land Desktop Complete Palette:
-> Points -> Import/Export Points -> Import Points...
In the pop-up window I choose the format, all is well. When I choose the source file using the "folder" button the program literally disappears from the screen. However, if I manually type the file location it works fine. I'm at a complete loss as to why the button does not work and how to "fix" it; any input would be appreciated.

Bill

Sounds like a glitch in the window. Do you get an error message?

Nope. No error message. My windows background just automatically appears.

Sounds like a Registry problem maybe. Try to do a COMPLETE uninstall and reinstalling of AutoCAD. You could try a search of Autodesk for limitations of Academic Version and also to see if this is a common problem. You could also check to see if you need an Object Enabler or a HOT FIX.
