I give up :x every once in a while my laptop decides my cursor has anchored itself down somewhere, so it highlights between there and anywhere else I try to click on screen :(

whilst it's doing this, it's also decided it's typing in CAPS, even though the CAPS aren't on, and if I switch them on, I get lower case

I'm fairly certain that I've got out of this before by doing something like holding down the shift or control key for a couple of seconds, but tonight it's decided that isn't going to work

oh, and it won't let me navigate from page to page here, it's opened a new window each time

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change to stop all this from happening?

(and don't anybody ask if my PICKFIRST is set to 1 :P )

What is Filedia set to? :D

Couldn't resist. Have you tried shutting down and restarting?

it happens way too often, and I'm damned sure it's a keystroke combination that's my problem SLW :( (and somehow it fixed itself again)

Filedia? :?

Filedia? :?

Just ribbing you a little. It is an AutoCAD system variable for display of dialog boxes.

Sounds to me like a system registry problem and/or some spyware/adware problems. Try running a spyware/adware remover. I like Spybot Search and Destroy, if you don't have one here is the LINK (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html).

shouldn't be spyware or adware - got that one covered ta :)

yup - tried hitting both the shift and ctrl keys.... then holding each for a few seconds. This thing is set up so that holding the shift key down for a bit locks the caps on :glare:

Try restoring Windows to the default settings.
