View Full Version : Text in block has shifted?

I have a block that has text attributes and it worked fine on one drawing but when I copied it over to another drawing the text has shifted up and even if I go to edit the block and move the text down (in fact when I edit the block the text IS where it should be) when I save it none of the blocks change and the text is STILL shifted?!? Im sure there is some setting I'm missing but can't figure out and I was hoping someone here might recognise the problem.
Thanks,

I run into that from time to time. Now that you have inserted that block, you will have it available in your drawing. If you go to your file menu and select insert then scroll down to Block... and select that block in the pop up window it should come in correctly.

*digs about at back of brain*
this is a long shot....
if the block you're using has a font that isn't recognised by the new drawing, it may be substituting a different text style in (note - not font but text style), and your text hasn't technically shifted, it's the 'justification' of the text that has changed
I think that's what had happened to the drawings I had multiple problems with when they were exported from a bespoke electrical package and into plain old AutoCAD anyway
somewhere deep in the depths of AutoCAD there is somewhere you can change the proxy text used when the required style isn't available. Sorry I can't remember where, but with any luck someone else will know the answer to that now I've prodded in (hopefully) the right direction
