Wow, no one has posted here in a while, Maybe this will get ur heads thinking:
(Inventor 8 - academic)
I'm working on a project, a toaster, I have all the parts modelled, and sub assembly made, now i need some animations of movement.
I can't figure out for the life of me how to do this, my prof says it can't be done, but he's too big on Catia...I think it can...what i need is the handle of the toaster to go down, at the same time i need the outer grates to be "pulled in" at the top at an angle, the bottom needs to stay stationary. i tried some angle constraints but it drives the wrong way.
I have some pics, but i don't know how to load them....
Plz help
Thanks
Figured it out:

I don't have the program here at home, so I may be slightly wrong her, if so... I am sure MR.T will correct me...lol

new presentation... load the assembled object... start pulling it apart and record the movie... The steps are in the help menu and very easy to follow. If I had the program in front of me I would show you the steps, but been hammering away at Land for the last three weeks and haven't even looked at inventor

I am sure MR T will be along to point you in the right direction.

Good luck with it

Thanks tlyall,
i've already done that for my assembly files, I need this one to be in an assembly file. I must apply constraints and "drive them" to animate the movement of the toaster.

Sorry I wasn't much help with this, I am sure Mr. T. will be along to lend a helping hand!

Take care!

You have to apply constraints then animate. The best thing is to run thru the tutroials on this, it uses a handle and linkage to show constraints and animations.
