there a really cool program out there called CAMTASIA STUDIO u can record on screen as u do things in autocad or other programs, there are alot of free trials for it too

Screen recording can be done in two ways. One is Full motion recording - means All your mouse movements are recorded at a pre-defined level. The advantage is you get everything accurate, the bad part is file size is too large plus you cannot edit once you record something.

Check Macromedia Captivate. It allows to record full motion recording as well as screen captures. That reduced the file size plaus you can go back and edit your mouse movements and keystrokes.
