I originally thought it could be your graphics card but it seems the geforce is ok .
Not to sure about the ATI http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/hc?siteID=123112&id=6711853&linkID=9240618&is_results=1&card_sel=0&manufac=0&card=0&cert=1&d_stat=1&d_stat=2&d_stat=3&prod=AutoCAD-R17.0&prod=AutoCAD-R17.1&os=1&os=256

My first thought was video card but I cannot work out why the problem is at home and at work, can both cards be faulty?

Best way to answer that, post your drawing here, and we can look at it. But, post your template drawing.

Or at least post a screenshot so we can see all the pretty colors.

Seriously though, the only time I have ever experienced anything like what you described was when my video card started dying. Shortly after that, my monitor started to fail. After replacing both of those items I had no more problems. It's just odd that it would happen on two different machines at the same time. :?
