Hi
Does anyone know why it take so much longer to open a layout tab in Windows XP, it was much quicker in Windows 98 - the time it took for regenerating.
Thanks
Johannes

Is this the same machine with a new OS or a whole new machine?

Do you have many layout tabs in your drawings?
I've given up drawing with multipe layout tabs as it took ages to regenerate between tabs. Especially if you have to keep swapping between tabs.
We have windows XP!!

I think there is a system variable to prevent regenerating each time you move to a new layout tab...

Tools>Options>System under "Layout Regen Options".

HI
APPRECIATE ALL THE RESPONSES.
IT IS A NEW OS ON A WHOLE NEW MACHINE.
I HAVE TO USE LOTS OF TABS.
UNFORTUNATELY NO SYSTEM VARIABLE FOR THAT IN AutoCAD LT UNDER Tools>Options>System.
BLESSINGS

Try doing what NBC suggested, and type LAYOUTREGENCTL on the command line. But I would check acad help on it first so you know what the variable values are.
