Hi,
I got this drawing in which everytime I want to make a crosswindow or actually everytime I click in the drawing not on an object, the pickbox diappears for a while before it comes back to let me do whether a cross window or something else. That problem occured to me already in a couple of drawings but this is not something that happens very often so that is why I ask if anyone else ever encountered that problem and if they solved it in any way?
Thank you

I've had that happen too, on large plans mostly. It seems to only happen when OSNAP, OTRACK or DYN is on. If I turn off those, it seems to be better. Pain though...

Sorry then, I don't know what else to try.
Is it only with the one dwg?

As I said, it happened with some drawings before, but this is not something that happens regularly on a lot of drawings, just some of them now and then...

Have you tried Purging the drawing? How about Recover and Audit?

I've tried purging and auditing, guess i'm gonna try the recovering, because it is really getting a pain in the a*s because everytime I click aside of an entity to pick it, it takes almost 5 seconds before the pickbox reappears...
Recovery time I guess, Thanks for the tips by the way.

I have just noticed that the problem is not occuring if I isolate a layer, the thing is that I don't have that much layers open though....

I have improved some drawings by _WBLOCK them out to a new drawing.

Is the drawing complex? Do you have a lot of OSNAPS running at the same time? Perhaps you're making a pick so far zoomed out AutoCAD isn't quite sure it knows what you are searching for.

I've got seven out of thirteen OSNAPs and the problems occurs mostly when i'm zoomed in more than zoomed out a lot... I've got about 15 XREFs and 8 out of them are loaded. I'll check if there are some of them that I can detach, guess it cannot be of no help...

Another long shot, so don't blame me if it doesn't solve the problem:
did you check if in the layer manager there are many Layer filters?
I think I had a similar problem once when I imported some drawings and I discovered that I had more than 50 layer filters in my drawing; I deleted the filters and the problem was gone

Hi,
maybe you are using a lot of textstyles that use TruType fonts? If so, this is a known problem but there's a fix. Although this is for Vanilla ACAD 2004, it will propably work for LDT as well:
