I have a Autodesk Symbols library (2000) and it won't load them into 2007. An error message saying that it is not communicating with Autocad. It does however work fine with 2006. Can anyone help.

As to your problem, my first thought would be to make sure you have the path to your symbols library set in Tools -> Options -> Files -> Support files search path .
