Does anyone know the most common types of output file extensions that SolidWorks produces(.STL, .IGES?????)

Yep. STL, IGES, STEP, PRO E

a Solidworrks part extension is .sldprt - an assembly is .sldasm and a drawing is .sldrw

any of these can be saved out as any format really .igs .step .stp .....many formats.
