Is there a way to change the text in the field expression box in the field dialogue box? I want to display the length of a line, but I want a custom format. As of now, I can only pick Architectural, decimal, etc. I want it to output as feet and inches without the feet and inches designators, i.e. 30 instead of 3'-0". Is there a way to do this?

i see this is an old post, but if you haven't already found out, you click the "additional format..." button and give it a conversion factor (in this case 1/12)

Hi, thanks for responding! It is an old thread, but I never did figure it out....I'm still not sure what you mean by "click the 'additional format' button"......I don't see an additional format button anywhere....the only options it gives me for output is "current units", "decimal", "architectural", "engineering", "fractional", "scientific" and thats it....I'm using AutoCAD 2006 if that makes a difference...thanks for the help!

here's a picture of the Acad 2007 Field Dialog box. maybe 2006 is different.

Oh....mine is different. In 2006 it says Field Format, which doesn't allow me to create any type of custom output. Does 2007 allow for a custom output?
