Hiya, we are using autocad LT 2007 and 2008 in the office currently, the 2007 machines will display cg omega but the 2008 one doesnt. I think they are all looking at the same folders but if someone could confirm exactly where to check that I would like to be sure. The 2008 machine also does not display the same range of text styles as the others.

If anyone can offer advice I would appreciate it

Cheers

Welcome in the forum!
Click the text containing that omega on the 2007 and see the properties (ctrl+1). Read the style name. Now go to Format > Text Style and under Text Style select that style (the one assigned to the text with omega). Read the font name. Now check if the 2008 machine has that font installed -probably it doesn't.
To see if a specific font is installed or not simply go to Format > Text stile and in the font name scroll down all the available fonts.

Hi,
Thanks for replying, done what you say and we changed the 2008 machine to the same style and font style but it still doesnt display cg omega. Is the next step to install it? and if so how do I do that?

Many thanks

Hi,

The .. Omega font probably came with an application (other than AutoCAD) installed on the older workstations and not on the new ones. (I for one do not have this font.)

There may be Copyright issues here but you can go to the old workstation and copy the file (probably named "cg_omega.ttf") from the C:\Windows\Fonts directory. On the new machine don't place the new file in C:\Windows\Fonts but somewhere else (C:\Temp). Then go to Control Panel --> Fonts and select Install new font from the File-menu. Go to C:\Temp and install the new font.
