I have a smal question (I use autocad 2005)
I have done a drawing whit the line command
http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/I1.jpg
used the 3d face command
http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/I2.jpg
and used array command to make it 3d
http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload7/I3.jpg

but in the 2:nd pic, how do i make a face on the curved lines? when i try it only make a face betwen the endpoint of the line.

Edit: 2005, not 2004

I think you use 2005 not 2004 :)

you have to turn the curved part into a closed p-line or region and revolve it as a surface and that should fix your problem

Look in the helpfile for the explaination of the command EDGESURF.

It is good option for you.

Here is another option for ya

Open the SURFACES toolbar and there are several options opeen to you. You can use 2-d solid or 3-d face. Simply select one of these. Play connect the dots with the ends of your lines. apply a shade and you have a surface to play with.

Now the real question...can you not just "revolove" it?

i can't get edgesurf to work on a space with 3 sides only

You need three end touching end EDGES eg lines. NOT thre surfaces.

I have checked the 3rd photo and really you shouldbe revolving the shape to create a solid. Avoid surfaces since they are difficult to edit. Whereas solids can be 'boolean' ed eg subtract, add etc.

I agree with MrT, avoid surfaces. look into the help file and get to know your solids. theres a vast array of solid tools for creation and editing.

then post your results in our showcase area.

You also seem to have a helluva lot of menus up :o . I only have layers, standard, draw, modify and properties.

Just type other commands eg 3DO, save etc.

Gives you more drawing area

Cool. Use the OPTIONS command then DIsplay to tweak the quality settings.

Also, get rid of the scroll bars, that too takes up room, use pan and zoom to move around in your modelspace.

Now the, lets get serious, we want to see a cutaway showing the internals, i.e powder grains, the way the projectile is seated into the casing, etc
