I`ve been bleeting on at work for years to purchase CAFM software...to no avail. I and my management team witnessed a demo last year of AutoCAD 2007/8 which showed Excel data being linked to a polyline......can the same be done with an Access Database?

I pretty much know zip about Access, but looking in the AutoCAD help file it appears so. If you are using AutoCAD go to the help file and do a "microsoft access" search and you'll see info on it.

I guess if it wasn't possible you could like the excel file and then link an access file to that one. Extra step, but it may work.

yes, the same can be done with any Access database, or any other database

I often write vba code in Acad or Access to send data like areas, room numbers, Bill of materials from a drawing to a table. The examples you ind in vba for Excel can be modified to work with Access. You need to learn a little about the DAO or ADO object model.
