one of the best things i have done is get a mouse where the scroll wheel can be clicked left and right (this is my mouse http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Logitech-LX5-Cordless-USB-PS-2-Optical-Mouse_W0QQitemZ250182682733QQihZ015QQcategoryZ9689 1QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) then set the the buttons to 'esc' and 'enter'

probably a good item to add to the mouse FAQ - when it gets an answer

sounds like a great idea, might just have to invest in a new mouse

Hi.
How do I set "esc" and "enter" to the side buttons?

Go to your mouse button editing software and select "Keystroke" for the task that you want to assign to a particular button. Then press the key (or combinations with Ctrl and Alt) and hit Apply. This should set that button to use the key(s) that you pressed.

Works Great, Great Idea... Just Becareful Not To Get Too Fast With The Buttons Becouse On Most Mouses' The Scroll Button Can Be Pushed In To "zoom Extents" And With The 3 Commands Just A Slight Different Click Can Get Confusing And Aggrivating!!!

Thanks For That Tip, That Is A New Setting On My Mouse!!!

I have my mouse wheel set to be middle button so this would not work for me. I use my middle button to call up the Osnap override dialog. I can't stand using it for pan as it is set for default. I have always used it for Osnaps.
