Hi all,

I am trying to come up with a CAD users manual. I am having problems with putting what I know in my mind onto paper.
This manual would be a guideline for an individual to use ACAD. The manual would include how to start a new drawing, layers, plot styles, plotting, archiving and so forth.
Does anyone have any documentation that they could share?
TIA.

what's wrong with the free documentation available right here on this forum in the tutorials?

it sounds more like he's trying to develop standards rather than a how-to guide....which is more personal preference than anything.

the ber,
i don't know of the free documentation you are referring to, so i don't know if there is anything wrong with it. can you point me towards this document? i have done a search earlier.
I am trying to put together a how-to-guide with standards implemented into the document.

The ber I think is referring to the "Tutorials" section here on CADTutor... it's very good... and it helped me a great deal when I taught myself :)

a "guide" to using ACAD is usually several hundred pages long, if not a thousand or more. i don't want to be negative. i just think that the easiest "guide" is to start the program, pick out a tutorial, and work it through.

My apologies, i must not have expressed myself clearly.
I am looking for a document. That document would be what I would call a "CAD Users Manual". It would include table of contents, and step-by-step instructions on how a person would begin a drawing that will have xrefs, text, plot styles, page setups, etc.
Thanks.

i don't know, i have yet to read that particular book.
but i am guessing, a very condensed version of it would suffice.

I know what you mean, acvtually may be hard to find as acad is a bit more complicated to the untrained user...and implimenting comany standars assumes you allready know acad and acad gives you the flexibility to create things many different ways...

Yea Amazon is a good start, or search the internet, there are lots of manuals in PDF format if you look hard enough.
