So i was able to rescale the Viewport and such all is well in modelspace as well,... now when opening up my layouts tabs the treelines and hedge linestyles do not appear in the viewport but are in modelspace, I have tried PSLTSCALE; AND LTSCALE, BOTH ARE SET TO 1 tried the linetype command the linetypes are in the acad set but not acadiso.lin set thats obviously because they are not acad linestyles but why do they show in modelspace? been to viewport properties as well, ............... nada what else would cause this and BTW I am running AUTODESK2004 LAND DEVELOPMENT DESK TOP CIVIL, IS THERE ANY SOLUTION FOR THIS OR DO i CALL IT QUITS!! sorry About the all caps caps lock was on .. oops
please help i am at my wits end

Could the layer be frozen in the viewport?
studiorat

LAYERS ARE ALL ON AND ACTIVE IN PLOT AS WELL, HOWEVER LAYER 0 HAS COLOR 9 OFF UNDER THE PLOT COLUMN ONE OF MY LAYERS HIGHLIGHTED IS USING 9 AS ITS COLOR, OOps caps lock again, I do not think layer 0 affects my plot or linetypes, i have tried everything we do have a client furnished drawing, that has linetypes is there a way to import linestyles from that dwg to my updated dwg.

tried ctrl 2 and got a menu i was not quite sure what it was , is that the import window should i select the drawing supplied by the client and import the linetype there??

Design Center (ctrl-2)
Use that to drag the linetypes into the current drawing.
If you will double click in the viewport to activate it then open the layer manager and stretch the size of the layer box, over to the right somewhere, you will see a column VP freeze. See if it is frozen in the viewport.

Try stripping everything but the lines that are the problem and posting it.

It appears to be a problem with your linetype TREELN. It shows up fine as any other Linetype. Perhaps you could post the code from your .lin file for TREELN.

the hedge line also in sheet 1 there is an area that contains an E M hedge design if you see that as well would ya like the code for that as well and if so i will just post it as well

When you load the drawing, are you getting some .shx substitutions?

they may have happened on the initial opening of the drawing yesterday, and i may have inadvertantly just ignored it!! if so how does one repair such an issue

Hit the F2 key and see if it in the history.
Something like this is what I get.
Substituting [simplex.shx] for [ENGINEERING.shx].
Substituting [simplex.shx] for [verdana.shx].
Substituting [simplex.shx] for [ITALICS.shx].
Substituting [simplex.shx] for [OLEROY.shx].

I didn't see TREELN in there, I think this may be your problem. You will need to load a similar linetype for it to show up or find the file with TREELN linetype. I would say you are missing the .shx for the linetype.
See if some of the stuff Alan gave you will be a good substitute.

I finally figured it out. Your LTSCALE is to large. I set LTSCALE through properties for the lines and set them at .1 and viola..they showed up in the viewport. Due to the way they were created, the only thing showing at LTSCALE = 1 or .5 were the points. Try adjusting the LTscale or maby the Psltscale to get them to show up.

Even a .1 LTSCALE is to large for some of the lines.

The Line types Alan gave you work much better.

.1 i thought i tried that hey you r the man i would of never gotten it did ya get it in properties in the viewport or in modelspace
SLW210
20th Nov 2007, 09:53 pm
Either works fine. Though if doing it in the viewport you need to lock the viewport so you don't end up zooming around. Do it in Model might be easier for you.

just a global type adjustment like ltscale=.1 or should I just get the line in question

You could try it globally if it doesn.t mess up the rest of your lines, as a matter of fact try PSLTYPE = .1 or something and see if it helps with the viewport. I didn't try it globally, you may have to play with a combo of it all. That Line Type is at a pretty large scale.

I played with it for a while and found that .03 ia a good size for the trees and overgrowth in paperspace, in model space that size is just a solid line but it really would be nice if they both were the same ya know!! alans linestyles are nicer you said,.... can you post the dwg. that you have with alans lines???? i cant tell if the linetypes alan gave me are the ones I have loaded, it would appear as if they are because they live in the acad.lin set man thanx for all the help it is awesome that you gave up your time and figured out in moments what took me days thanx a million

You are welcome for the help, sorry it took me so long to get it.
Like I said you could try setting the LTSCALE to look good in Modelspace, then play with PSLTSCALE or even CELTSCALE to get the right look for your drawing in Paperspace.
If I get the time I will give it a play.
