Plotter Ideas

Hi there,

I need a new plotter!
The one i am using is taking over 15mins to plot 1 A1 drawing, no good!

Does anyone know of a cheap & fast plotter that i can buy that will suit my needs, i do a lot of plotting at A0 & A1. Also one that comes with tech support and maintenance!

I like HP laserjet. I do not think they are cheap, though.

I have been looking at the HP DesignJet 500PS+, but i can only seem to find ones that only plot up to A1!

i've been looking at OCE plotters recently and they seem good, HP here at the moment though.

maybe worth giving them a look

OCE are trying to sell us a model over £5K, it would be nice to have this machine but its too much for our needs!
We are just a small company and i'm the only CAD guy here so all i need is a good relyible bottom of the market plotter.

I contacted HP and they suggested the HP DesignJet 500PS Plus, has anyone used this plotter?

i know the model we have been looking at is around £1600 (the CS 2124 http://www.oce.com/en/Products/Printers-copiers-plotters/Colour/Wide+format+documents/cs2124-2136-2136mf/default.htm)

we have a designjet 450c that is ok, can get them cheap on ebay for around £400-600

I think every office I've worked in has been on HP - though the pen plotter in my first office may have been epson... dunno

if that looks too steep - try looking for a second user dealer. Decide how many plots you actually need to get through in a day (or how big your batches of drawings are) and thereby determine how fast you actually need to plot. You may find the most modern plotters are more than you really need at this point in time :wink:

sorry to dig up an old thread, but our office just pruchased an OCE plotter about 2 months ago and we've been completely satisfied with our purchase...

OCE TDS320 it was around $8k after everything, but well worth it.
