Hi all,

I've Windows XP o.s. and was using AutoCAD2002 and LT2007 comfortably.

But since yesterday, AutoCAD2002 is getting closed mainly when I tried to save or open a file.
Then I re-installed the AutoCAD2002, but still same problem is continue and in addition no menu item showing(as installed autocad on D drive this time, just to avoid any bug in C drive).
I,ve also tried system recovery, but no gain.

Surprisingly it is working fine in Administrator login.

Please guide me, if u've any clue....

Hi,

try creating a new userlogin on the PC. You may have a case of the corrupted userprofiles causing the malady.

I've tried that by disabling the profile then re-enable it. Not working.. Its my office P.C.
With my profile my email(outlook) and so many other things are attached. So shifting to other profile would be difficult job.

My suggestion would be to start with a recover/audit of the drawing. Then if the problem persists, post the drawing so we can have a look at it. There are many reasons for this happening.

Hello again,

by the by, does AutoCAD give any error message when closing?

If the profilething is unavailable, you're really left with uninstalling (and I mean totally) the 2002 installation. As you said that you also have a 2007 based product installed this effectively means that you'll have to uninstall both.(Because of the Common files)(x

Do this:

1. Do the uninstalls from Control Panel
2. Delete the Autodesk Registry-entries:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk
3. Delete all remaining files:

C:\Rogram files\AutoCAD 2002 and 2007 or whatever
C:\Program files\Common Files\Autodesk shared
x) If you don't want to remove the 2007, do the above except the common files part and from the registry only remove these:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R15.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R15.0

And before reinstall REBOOT

Petri, I solved one problem(no menu or tool bar) with the help of ur suggestion given in other thread. using command- options (that open options window)- file-- and correcting all file address
Now the only problme is that if I am trying to save or open a file.
After opening the open/save dialogue box(/window) -
-it open up with showing last location (when it was running well)
-if try to select location using drop-down combo box (list) - it is showing emty list (no "My computer or C or D " , just empty)
-now, if I click 'ok' or 'cancel', autoCAD is gettting closed without any warning or asking for saving the drawing...

Till then I try ur advice...

I cant uninstall using control panel, as in add/remove programs list. No autoCAD2002 is diplaying but a big empty field (even when it was running well) may be b'caz I am using XP o.s.

Today, my office admin is on leave. So tomorrow or at monday, I'll reinstall both AutoCAD2002 & LT2007 using Admin login...
But how can I save my customised tools

Well, I'm outa here. I don't like drastic steps being taken with no real need. But that is your call. :(

You said you have no problem as Administrator. Then log in as Administrator. I do that everyday. It sounds to me like you installed as Administrator. Then stick to that.

Hi,

the empty "dropdown" list is an AC 2002 problem (anav...) Repair here:
