hey everyone,
I have a drawing that was drawn in meters. I want to plot this drawing out on 24"x36" sheet @ 1:100 scale.
The problem that im having is i set the set size to 24"x36. I then open up my viewport to the size i need. When i type in 1:100 the drawing srinks down in scale.??? i would like to know how to plot this drawing at 1:100...please help
the drawing was done in meters and 1:1 with no limits

There are a number of ways, here's a couple...
1. Make sure your viewport is unlocked. Enter model space (type mspace, or dbl-click inside your viewport). Start the Zoom commnad > C (for center) > 1/100xp
2. Make sure your viewport is unlocked. While in Paperspace click on the viewport's border. Open the Properties, and you can change the viewport's scale there (Standars scale/Custom scale)

I have tried these methods and it doesn;t work. when i trype in 1:100 in my viewport scale window it shrinks. Its only doing it on this drawing. i have others that i have completed in (mm) and when i scale them it's perfect. i think because i did this drawing in meters
(100mm = .100 m) its not scaling properly???
any help would be appreciated.

Mmmhhh, I don't think it will work like that.
If in your page setup the plot scale is set to 1:1 then with method 1 suggested by lpseifert you have to enter 10xp instead of 1/100xp
In method number 2 you will have to choose costum scale 10 or standard scale 10:1
That's because the drawing is in meter but the paper size is expressed in mm (as in page set up the plot scale setting is 1:1 so 1 mm = 1 unit).
If you set the the right relation between mm and drawing units in page setup (1mm = 0.001 unit) then the paper size will apear really small because the paper space dimensions will look like if they are espressed in meters and so you will have to reset your viewport.
Ah, don't mess up with unit systems: if you use metric in MS do the same in PS

thank you it worked great help.
can you answer one more question?
In model space how do i do the same, change the hole drawing from meters to mm? so when i type (di) for distance it shows me the units in mm. i tried to change them in format/units but when i went back to the drawing it still drew in meters?
thank you

Scale with a factor of 1000.
There is 1000mm in one meter.

Be aware anyway and remember that some entities will not be properly scaled. For the dimension you will have to operate with DIMSCALE an set it to the proper scale of your drawing
