Dear all !! I`m just new on the forum and think that i`ll start spending some time on it !!! it covers most of the interesting field in graphics for Design ...

First a big thanks to David for this wonderful tutorial ... that will help the students life ;)

Question about the website hosting. I`m looking for an host which would offer several email address POP3, that you can change to a personal one ... i`m currently with supanames.co.uk, and the only email address I could have was: postmaster@mysite.com ... I am not looking for a free webhost ...

also to check your POP3 ... did any of you notice that with hotmail you can no longer download your POP3 ... so far I found that Yahoo does it ... any of you found a good way of checking them easily, instead of going through the `check inbox` `download POP3` ... etc straight into the inbox?

cheers for that !!!

Look at this one...
http://www.glabouni.com/EzPop/description.htm
It's called ez-pop. It might do what you want and it's free and skinable.
Good Luck

Hey, also look at www.simtel.net and see what you can find there.

What I understand of your post is that you're looking fo free pop3 mail, well here's a list:

http://www.fepg.net/pop3.html

Personally I use GMX.net, it is German, but once you went through the subscriptionprocess it works very good...

cheers to you two !!! ;)
F7 -> the EzPop looks rather good ... never knew such software ... looking at the FAQ it looks like Ez can check POP3 email, hotmail, yahoo, etc ... I`m wondering if the software would alert you the same way if you receive an email in Hotmail or a POP3 email ... any idea?

superjari -> I`m looking for POP3 emails, but part of a web host package, buying some space for my website (like 50Mo) offers me emails address as well, but instead of only one POP, i`m looking for several that I can personalise easily ... eg myname@mysite.com

... once i have those address, i can check them easily with EzPop ...
really good forum this is !!! thanks for the help ;)

Believe it or not, this forum is hosted by Supanames.co.uk. I have a value host PRO account with them and that gives you unlimited POP3 mailboxes. You can easily upgrade to this account from your current account, which might be the easiest option if you already have a domain and web site set up.

CADtutor -> Thanks for the information ... funny enough, i`ve just visited their website, and just realised that they`ve cut in half their prices from last year !!!

I bought a Value Host pack last May 2002 (2 years minimum) for £50 !!! and now the Value Host PRO is at the same price !!!! well still time to upgrade to the PRO service ... any idea how? i`ll have a look on the FAQ !!
good info ... cheers for that ;)

Hope it helps. Neither did I until I started using skins for my OS and other applications. I kept seeing references to ez-pop and took a look one day. To be honest I have not used it much due to the fact that I was "going" to use it at work to check my home account as well as my yahoo account until work blocked ALL Web Based E-mail so I did not use it much after installing it but it looked like it could alert you to new mail. It did no use much system resources so give it a try. Cheers.
