Hello All,
Somehow I have lost my command line box at the bottom of my screen. I can activate the floating command line box by using F2 but I cant get my default box back. This site is so helpful and thaks to all who post.

How did you manage to lose it? Did you just drag it off screen or did it not appear after you changed some setting or other?

Hello,
I believe I just drug it off the screen. But i haven't been able to retrieve it. I can use the floating command line window and fix it in place at the bottom of the screen but it isn;t the same. In the options menu there is a checkbox for variable lines to be visible at the command line box. I have experimented with it by changing the value of the number of lines but that didn't work. I cant find any other place to toggle anything that even looks like what I want. The answer is simple once you know it but I don;t know it right now. Thanks for your reply.

right click on any toolbar, you should see a list of toolbars. the ones that have a tick next to them are active. if the command line toolbar is active but not on the screen, try dragging all of your toolbars to the centre of the screen, it will show up somehwere, then replace them all back into their respective places.

hi There
russell
i intentionally located to command line at the top of the screen
This tends to help relieve some of the severe neck pain, (joke)
i am literally a pain in my own neck, 2 car accidents 7 years ago
use the ctrl key when you drag the command line around
re-size before locating it into its "final" resting place,
i use 2048 x 1536 resolution so by placing the command line at the top
i can get just a little bit more real estate space to work with on my 22" monitor
always got 4 or 5 things open minimum
but you can move the command line anywhere that you like
Thanks

If the command line is just off screen, you could try increasing the resolution of your screen. That way you'll see the stuff that is currently off screen. Drag the command line back and then restore your previous screen resolution.

Hi F7,
I changed the resolution from 860x600 to 1024x768. That allowed me to see the command line box the I 'misplaced'

 800x600 and using CAD. Whew! That makes my eyes hurt just thinking about it. j/k Anyway, the higher your res. the more drawing space you will have. I have a 17" monitor at home and it is set to 1280x960 and it feels cramped to me.
Take care.

Honestly not that bad, I don't notice it. You can run a high res and increase your desktop icon size and text size but I find a higher res gives me more drawing area in Autocad. Here at work I am running 2560x1024 across 2 19" CRT monitors. I wish I had gotten 2 21" CRT maybe next year
Hey David, how about a poll for desktop resolution??

F7, that's a good idea. I'll definately do that in the new year.

Of course, it all depends upon the quality of the monitor you're using. You can quite happily run 1280 on a 17" if it's good enough.
