Two years and counting...
Well, today is our second birthday. The CADTutor phpBB forum went live exactly 2 years ago today and in that time we've come a long way. I'd just like to take the opportunity to thank all of you who have contributed to the success of the forum over the last few years.
A little history of the forum
In truth, the forum has been going longer than 2 years but in different forms - some of you have been around long enough to remember them. We started out life on ezboard (http://www.ezboard.com) in August 2001. We were there for about a year. During that time the pop-up ads increased to the point where the forum became difficult to use. Sadly, there was no way to migrate posts away from ezboard so we cut loose and set up a fresh forum using YaBB (http://www.yabbforum.com/) forum software. That forum kicked off in August 2002. Unfortunately, the YaBB software turned out to be totally unsuitable. It was a flatfile forum and caused problems for the web server. My host told me to pull the forum or have my account closed. I pulled the forum. The first incarnation of this forum kicked off on 29th October 2002. Very quickly it became popular and has gone from strength to strength. As most of you are now aware, the second incarnation of the phpBB forum kicked off a couple of weeks ago. The forum was moved to a new host, new functionality added and a total makeover (including emoticons  ). So, there we are - up to date.
Thanks for all your support.
