Newbie question -
does Solidworks have a way to identify when a balloon (I call them designators, but I've been told thats wrong...) linked to a part number is not connected to the part?
I know that the balloon shows up as a "?" on the actual drawing if for any reason it is no longer in contact with the part, but is there any kind of notification or error message that can be generated when this happens? The reason I ask is because it's really time consuming to do this check manually when there is a hundred or so balloons on a drawing.

Try calling up a SW BOM Then you can look at the columns and one of them will tell you what parts in the assembly have been ballooned or not. Its a good way of checking that you have caught everything and also if a balloon has missed it target and snapped to a item behind the one you wanted
