During the last several months I have developed an add-on for AutoCAD 2008 using ObjectARX.NET. The reason I am posting a thread here is that I look for some feedback whether the product I did could be successful on the market. The add-on itself was developed as a project for a furniture manufacturing firm which needed to shorten the time required for assessing the cost of a furniture after created in autocad. The program relies on a cutting optimization algorithm. It stores in a database all plots, materials, edge banding types with their price, and then uses the algorithm to assess the cost which is based on the materials used and the number of plots required for manufacturing the furniture. I know that there are many ERP solutions which are, without any doubt, much better solution to this problem but having an ERP is really costly. What do you think?

Everything is usefull

I wrote a program that converted a drafting task from around 25 mins to 25 seconds whilst working commercially.

The client loved it but wanted some minor changes made as a company said yes but pay up to stage now , unfortunately they had the software and never paid.

Moral if you have something someone wants time bomb it or lock it whilst they trial we locked ours initially to a version number amazing that another company suddenly rang us to say it was not working yet they had not paid for it.
