hi everyone,
i am using ACAD 2000 (arch desktop) and whenever i create a second viewport they all zoom to extents after exiting them. the only way to avoid this is to lock the display for the vport, which is very annoying when i have several on a layout and i need to edit them.
can anyone help with this? it is driving me mad!!

thanks, jeff

Hi Jeff,

:? before it changes to zoom extents does it let you scale the object in the vport to a specific scale ie 1:20?

Jeff,

Check out the UCSFOLLOW variable. Keep in mind you have to set it for every viewport.

hi kate and vics,
thanks very much for the input.
i have the ucs follow set to 1 as i need to have different rotations in different viewports.
there is no problem with scaling within the viewport; it just zooms to extents when i click in another vp without locking the display of them.

have just been having more of a play with the ucsfollow for the vps. if it is set to 1 for all (without locking the display) they all zoom to extents and/or rotate with the ucs the same way.
changing the ucsfollow to 0 after rotating / scaling solves the prob, but then that is more work than locking the displays....

all sorted. the solution is to use ucsfollow only in modelspace and to save ucs's to be restored in viewports.
