Hey everybody first time on this site I love it.
I was recently hired for HVAC cad work and found this site bookmarked.

Here's the problem:
The existing monitor is 20x20x26 (LxWxD) and weighs about 50 lbs. It probably is older than me. It sports a fancy strobe effect that after about 5 hours makes my eyes hurt. That's the problem. So I am looking for a new monitor and have no idea where to start. Below are the specs. I was thinking a 22" widescreen LCD. Any help? Thanks

I would suggest going to CADalyst magazine and check out their hardware reviews on LCD monitors.

www.cadalyst.com (http://www.cadalyst.com)

At the opening web page, go to the upper right hand corner and type "LCD" in the search box. That will get you started.

Caveat: Buy a monitor that is best suited for displaying graphics and not just "any old LCD on the shelf with a good price" at the time. Your eyes will thank you.

I personally have the Dell budget 22" LCD at home. The E228WFP is a great monitor and AutoCAD 2008 looks great on it. Sure you can buy a cheaper version say from Acer or other but Dell has stood behind their products for me. $263 is not a bad deal with a 3 year warranty.

Where I work they bought me a monitor, with NO built in sound, I had to bring in my own speakers and amp:x

My tip, look for one with speakers.
