I stopped using my Auto cad 2006 for about a month and when I came back I noticed that the properties palette would fail to appear on the screen when I typed in 'properties' or called it up on the toolbar. The command line registered my command but nothing came up on the screen (it also records when I close the properties palette despite the fact it never appeared). At the time I was simply wanting to change the layer of a number of items. Can anyone help?

Thanks :(

I have tried moving the screen about but no joy yet. Is there any thing I can do to increase the range in which I can search for this 'properties palette box' which is off screen?

Were you using dual monitors before? If so, changing your screen resolution probably won't help. But if you haven't already tried this, go to your Windows > Control Panel > Display settings and set your screen resolution all the way up.

either try pressing ctrl+1 or you may need to do a repair for autocad.

I had the same problem, tried everything recomended here and elsewhere, all to no avail. For me the problem turned out to be that the system path varible was too long. This is likely to occur as you go about your bizness and each program adds it's favorite landing spots to the path variable. I would also suggest this problem is across ALL acad versions.
