The CADTutor website (and this forum) will be down for around an hour starting around 6am (GMT) on Sunday 13th January. As most of you will be in bed, you shouldn't notice a thing.
The reason for the downtime is to install software upgrades on the hosting server. This should result in slight improvement in performance and better security.
I don't envisage any major problems as a result of these changes but if you do notice anything odd, do let me know.

That would be 4.00 p.m. Sunday my time. Not a problem here. The forum is pretty quiet at that time anyway.
David, does this upgrade include getting ready for the FAQ launch?

Not especially, although the server upgrade involves a move from PHP4 to PHP5 and so there are potential issues for all software running on PHP on this site - that includes just about the entire site, FAQ and Forum included.
That particular day/time was chosen because it is the quietest time on the site.

The CADTutor site will be down for up to an hour between 6pm and 4am GMT, tomorrow, 26th January. This is a routine upgrade of some server software.
As this is a quiet time on the forum, you probably won't even notice.

Server upgrade is now complete. We had a problem with the software that generates the registration images and resizes uploads, which in now solved.
If you tried to register over the past 24 hours and had a problem, please try again now.
