Sheryl Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I am one semester into learning CAD 2008. My interest is in Architectural drawing. Where can I see good examples of plans with the sections drawn to show dimensions of the studs, building wrap, wallboard, door and window trim, etc? Quote
CADken Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 well, AutoCAD comes with built in templates, there is a few Arch't examples available right in the program. http://www.cben.net is your best bet for finding drawings on just about anything. Quote
ReMark Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 A book: Architectural Graphics Standards is considered the "bible". It's expensive though. You might try looking on the Internet too as there is a website built around the book's contents. You can also walk into any Loew's or Home Depot and pick up an inexpensive paperback book about how to frame a house, interior trim and / or building a home. Another good book is Architectural Drafting and Design. I'm sure if you search this site you'll find references to online content already documented by fellow CADTutor forum members. Good luck Sheryl and welcome to the forum. We look forward to your participation. Quote
Sheryl Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 Thank you so much for your help. I can now continue the drawing I am working on of my own house with more information! Quote

Noahma Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 There is a great book, I will have to find the exact name for you, my copy is at work. I think it is called "graphic guide to wood frame buildings" or similar, it is an absolutely great book to use for basic framing ideas. I will grab the title after work tomarrow for you. Quote
ReMark Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Edmund: You do realize you're posting to a thread that ended two years ago right? What is the significance of the reference to "compensation for the worker who was injured"? Quote
