why is my background not showing up?

I created a camera view and in the view dialogue box, I click on background override -> image -> browse for my background -> set it to current display -> hit apply (the preview *seems* to have my background in it) -> hit OK. But the when I render, no background shows up. Why not???

Did you change the Image position to Stretch? If so, then the new background will fill the entire screen.
